What you get during the trial

Everything — the full app, unlocked. Import your whole shoot, Auto Build every spread, refine each page, and export print-ready PDFs. The trial is tracked to your computer, so it can't be reset by reinstalling; if you're briefly offline, a short grace period keeps you working.

First launch on macOS: the current builds are not yet notarized, so macOS Gatekeeper may say the app "can't be opened." it's a one-time, 20-second step. Full walkthrough just below ↓

Opening WeDesignAlbums on your Mac

The current builds aren't notarized by Apple yet, so macOS asks you to confirm the first time you open the app. Nothing is wrong with the download — pick the path that matches your Mac. You only do this once.

Install it Every Mac

  1. Open the downloaded WeDesignAlbums-1.8.0-universal.dmg.
  2. In the window that appears, drag the WeDesignAlbums icon onto the Applications folder.
  3. Open your Applications folder — you'll launch it from there, not from the disk image.

Then open it — the quick way macOS 14 & earlier

  1. Control-click (or right-click) the WeDesignAlbums app and choose Open.
  2. A dialog warns it's from an unidentified developer — click Open again.
  3. That's it. macOS remembers your choice, so from now on it opens with a normal double-click.

On macOS Sequoia (15) If right-click won't open it

  1. Double-click the app once. When macOS says it "can't be opened," click Done.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll to the Security section — you'll see "WeDesignAlbums was blocked." Click Open Anyway.
  4. Confirm with Touch ID or your password, then click Open in the final prompt.

If it says the app is "damaged" Terminal fix

  1. This can appear when the download is flagged as quarantined (e.g. after AirDrop or email). It's harmless to clear.
  2. Open Terminal (Applications → Utilities), paste the line below, and press Return:
xattr -cr "/Applications/WeDesignAlbums.app"
  1. Open WeDesignAlbums normally. The command only removes the download-quarantine flag — it doesn't change the app.

Why this happens: the app is signed ad-hoc rather than with a paid Apple Developer certificate. Full notarization is on the roadmap and will remove this step entirely.

Do I need a credit card or an account?

No. There's nothing to sign up for. Download, open the app, and the trial begins on its own.

How long is the trial?

Seven days from first launch. The app shows how many days remain on the corner pill so there are no surprises.

Is the trial limited in any way?

No feature limits and no watermark — you're using the full app, including print-ready export, for the whole trial.

What happens when the trial ends?

You'll see the activation screen. Enter a license key to unlock the app permanently on that computer; your saved projects are untouched and open right up once activated.

Can I use it on both my Mac and PC?

Yes — download the app on each. The trial and any license are tracked per computer.
